The following passage is quoted from a recent letter written by a grateful family to one of our associates. Names have been removed to protect privacy. We believe this letter helps illustrate what families often go through as their loved ones age, and why they so often choose The Fountains. To read about what more family members say, please read some of our Fan Mail (accessible on this website through Our Communities), or click on In the Words (above). I would like to take a moment to formally thank you for all of your help with the care of my Mother. This letter is long overdue, as we began our relationship over two years ago. You waited patiently after our first meeting, knowing that Mom had to move to your [community] when she was ready, even though we knew right then and there, that The Fountains was the perfect place for her.
When she was ready, you welcomed her with open, loving arms. You made her feel like she was your most important [resident]—as I know you do for all of your other [residents]--which is a true gift. Your talent of marketing did not stop there, it only began. You constantly watch over your [residents ] as if they are your family—when Mom ran into some trouble (in and out of the hospital three times in three months) you helped us as a family make the decision to move her from the independent living at the Town Center into the assisted living at The Inn. At first it was a difficult decision, but with your experience, knowledge and trust, we soon saw that it was the right decision. Her world is closer enabling her to continue her activities without taxing her energy.
Once again, she was doing well but not great. You saw that and informed us about the Congestive Heart Failure Clinic at NIMC and told us that Mom, having CHG would probably qualify for the program. After checking with her physician, she was qualified and has been going to the outpatient clinic for several months, we believe, keeping her out of the hospital. This type of care is so rare, yet so typical for you.
You have a special gift for knowing exactly what people need and when they need it. You are extremely professional and blend it with a warm, loving nature that is genuine and true.
Your dedication is to be commended, and we thank you. We wish you continued success in all of your endeavors—and truly believe that you are a gift to The Fountains and to all of us.
Glowing praise for our associates (such as that above) is so frequently received, that we have to believe it is no accident. Please see "Leading The Fountains" accessible from our home page, for more insight.
